As clear as that is, there are still people who want to know, “how far can I go?” These people want to know how close can they get to hell without actually falling in.. they want to peek over the edge of the cliff that has an everlasting lake of fire, just close enough to get warm but not burned.(Rev 20:15)
The seventh commandment tells us “Do not commit adultery.” As clear as that is, Jesus explains even more in Matt 5:28. He tells us even if we look and lust after someone we have already committed adultery with them in our heart. So basically this sin has became a heart condition. Jesus wants to change our hearts to become more like Him. (Romans 12:1-2).
The Bible is VERY clear about a standard for God’s people. Having sex outside of marriage has been addressed and there is no gray area. Even if you believe you will marry that person one day, just simply wait.
As your marriage goes on, you will be at peace to know that you honor God’s commandments. You will not have to handle all the emotional baggage that goes along with having sex before marriage. Many people plan where they go to college, how much to save up for their first car. But few think about their future spouse. Start studying God’s word, so you can pray for your future spouse. So start now to build a strong future, and strong marriage.. Even before you meet mr. or mrs right.
Hebrews 13:4, Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators (people who sleep around outside of being married) and adulterers God will judge!
1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, be he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
